Government Commissions Early Advice on Assistance for Students with Disability
Minister for School Education Peter Garrett has commissioned advice on strategies that could assist school students with disability and special needs in the classroom and at school.

The launch of the policy released on Friday by the Coalition government is missing the mark for the vast majority of students with special educational needs in our education system. Current Department of Education and Workplace Relations shows the percentage of students with special education needs in our schools is over 6.4%. This package is limited in its ability to address the real need in our schools.
